Bad Breath

Bad breath is the unpleasant odor which comes out while you breathe out. Bad breath is a problem when you laugh out loud on a joke. It becomes rather embarrassing. Well the question to be asked is how this bad breathe is caused? Well millions of bacteria are their in the mouth especially behind the tongue. In many cases these bacteria’s are the prime cause of bad odor. The causes of bad breathe may differ like say because of oral dryness, stress, fasting, food etc.

Some bad breathes are normal like the “morning mouth”. When we are awake the saliva washes off the decaying food. But when we sleep less of saliva a created because of which your mouth becomes dry and a bad odor is emitted.

Causes of Bad breathe:

Food:

The food which we consume may get stuck between our teeth. The bacteria’s in our mouth accumulate on this food and release sulfur compounds causing bad breathe. Saliva also takes the odor from the food which has being consumed a sometime back. Some food stuffs like garlic and onion also contribute to your bad breathe they contain pungent oil which is goes to your lungs and comes out of the mouth

Dental problem:

When teeth are not brushed and flossed properly food particles remain in the mouth. The bacteria act on it and a thin layer of bacteria is formed on the teeth, causing bad breath.

Dry mouth:

Our mouth is kept clean due to the saliva. It also keeps the mouth moist. Dead cells get accumulated on the tongue, cheeks, and gums in a dry mouth. This normally occurs at night when we sleep. Dry mouth can be even causes because of smoking and due to intake of some medicines.

Tobacco and Alcohol:

Periodontal diseases are more likely to happen to the tobacco users along with bad breath. Alcohol dries out the mouth reducing the saliva formation. Also digestive problems occur because of alcohol causing bad breath.

Stomach:

Bad breath can be caused because of indigestion, bowel disorder or constipation. When food doesn’t get digested it results in fermentation acid reflux and Bad breath.

Dieting:

Constipation and indigestion are the results of dehydration or fasting. The end result of all this is bad breath.

Diseases:

Diseases kidney failure and lung infections also contribute to bad breathe. A fruity breath odor is emitted from the mouth of people suffering from diabetes.

Nose Throat:

Bad breath is caused due to the nasal discharges from the sinus into your throat. Respiratory infections may cause the formation of cough which is another source of bad breath.

Stress:

Our digestive system gets affected due to stress. The digestive enzymes are not produced sufficiently which leads to bad breath.

When the bad breathe results from poor dental hygiene teeth should be properly brushed and flossed .some problems of bad breathe keep coming back. if this happens then proper dental treatment should be taken. Bad breathe resulting from illness should be treated with medical care.
